Visceral Manipulation
What is visceral manipulation?
Visceral manipulation is a gentle manual therapy technique that focuses on the internal organs. The organs, also known as the viscera, include the uterus, ovaries, liver, intestines, and kidneys. Visceral manipulation is a type of manual therapy aimed to enhance the mobility and function of these organs by addressing restrictions and imbalances in the connective tissues that surround them. By improving the alignment and movement of the organs, visceral manipulation can help alleviate pain, enhance digestive function, and improve overall health and well-being. It is often used as part of a holistic approach to address pelvic health concerns and promote optimal body function.
When performing visceral manipulation, our therapists will place their hands on your abdomen, pelvis or back to evaluate the small movement or restriction of your organs. Once the dysfunction is identified, small, gentle movements are utilized to promote improved mobility.
